Terms of use
Draft. Written to describe how the product actually works today, not reviewed by a lawyer, and subject to replacement before any large-scale launch.
Last updated 24 August 2026
1. Who you are agreeing with
Garage Setups is owned and operated by PGBDIC LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. In these terms “we” and “us” mean PGBDIC LLC, and “you” means the person using the site.
2. What this site is
Garage Setups publishes descriptions of garages and workshops written by the people who own them. It is an information and documentation service. It is not a contractor, a retailer, a marketplace, or a source of professional advice.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 to hold an account.
- Provide an email address you actually control, and keep your password to yourself.
- One person per account. You are responsible for everything posted from yours.
- We can suspend or remove an account that breaks the community guidelines.
4. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights in the text, photographs, dimensions and figures you post. Nothing here transfers ownership to us.
By publishing a build you grant Garage Setups a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the site, including in search results, previews and social cards. This licence exists so we can legally show your page; it ends for future use when you unpublish or delete the content, though copies may persist in third-party caches and archives outside our control.
5. What you promise about what you post
- It is yours, or you have permission to publish it here.
- It describes a real space, not an invented or borrowed one.
- Figures you present as what you paid are what you actually paid, to the best of your recollection.
- It does not contain anyone’s personal contact details or residential address.
- It does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark or privacy.
6. What we may do with content
We may remove or unpublish content that breaks these terms or the community guidelines, and we may do so without notice where there is a privacy or safety exposure. We may edit obvious data-entry errors in structured fields (a ceiling height of 900 feet, say). We do not rewrite anyone’s words.
7. Owner-reported information is not verified
Dimensions, costs, product choices, timelines and outcomes on this site are reported by contributors and are not independently verified. They may be wrong, out of date, or specific to circumstances that do not match yours. Treat every figure as one data point.
8. Tools and calculators
The planning tools do arithmetic on numbers you supply. They are estimation aids only. They do not account for building codes, structural requirements, electrical load, ventilation, fire safety, egress, clearances or anything else that matters when you actually build. Nothing on this site is professional design, engineering, electrical, structural or legal advice. For work that requires a licensed professional, use one.
9. Outbound links and commercial relationships
Links to merchants and manufacturers are provided for reference. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, pricing, availability or terms. Our current commercial position — which is that no link on this site earns a commission — is described on the affiliate disclosure page, and that page is updated before any of it changes.
10. Acceptable use
- No scraping, bulk downloading or automated collection of build data.
- No attempting to reach content you are not authorised to see.
- No probing, load-testing or interfering with the service.
- No using the site for advertising or lead generation.
Security researchers acting in good faith are welcome — tell us what you found before you tell anyone else, and we will not come after you.
11. Availability
The service is provided as-is. It is early software, it may be interrupted, and features may change or be removed. We do not guarantee uptime, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site, to the fullest extent the law allows. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited.
12. Changes
These terms will change as the product develops, particularly around monetisation. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
13. Contact
